FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Give us a call, we'd be happy to answer any additional questions you might have.

  1. 01

Q: Why should I sell my vehicle on Bring A Trailer?

A: Bring a Trailer gives Canadian sellers access to a much larger pool of serious buyers across North America and beyond. On top of that, because vehicles are sold in U.S. dollars, the exchange rate can work heavily in a Canadian seller’s favour when the proceeds are converted back to CAD.

  2. 02

Q: Do you only work with Vancouver sellers?

A: We happily assist sellers all across BC, Alberta and Washington. Have a vehicle you need help with? You have options. 1. We'll travel to you 2. Or we will arrange local resources 3. Or (if in BC/Alberta) you're welcome to ship your vehicle to us and we will prep & store the vehicle until the buyer's transport is ready to receive it.

  3. 03

    Q: What is your fee?

A: We simply charge $500 for the listing and a flat 5% of the selling price, capped at $10,000 USD.

  4. 04

Q: Should I list with a reserve or without?

A: That is entirely dependent on a few factors. The first being your comfort level, and the second being the vehicle. For most vehicles, selling at no reserve can lead to a stronger result as the market knows it's going to sell no matter what leading to more engagement and excitement. Listing with a reserve, however, still offers great opportunity while protecting your investment. We will chat about this in more detail after you submit your vehicle.

  5. 05

What if my vehicle does not sell?

Just because your reserve is not met does not mean we're back to square one. Often times the bidding is very close, and that's where we come in. We'll get in touch with the high bidders immediately after the auction to see if we can't close the gap and close the deal privately.

  6. 06

What does the process look like for Bring a Trailer?

The process is very straightforward. We'll put together everything needed (extensive photo gallery, documentation, vehicle bio, and requested reserve) then submit it to Bring a Trailer. We will then work with their team on providing any additional info they may need. This only takes a few days. Once all is approved by you and BaT, the listing will be live as soon as the following day. The auction will be live for 7 days. We'll be hands on managing the comments, providing any requested images/videos by bidders, and keep the listing engagement high right to the close.
